Grand Magherita Kuching - Macam2 Ada Mega Buffet

Memang macam-macam ada I tell you.
Mata jadi rambang nak milih makanan.

Last Saturday nite, the place was packed.  The venue is at the Orchid Garden Restaurant, but the makan place and the buffet spread are extended to the pool side.  Few government agencies were treating their staff and clients to the berbuka puasa buffet, apart from individual families, Muslim and non-Muslim too.

The buffet is priced at RM100 nett per adult and RM50 nett per child.  Do call 082-532111 ext 158 for more information and reservations.

There are more than 200 dishes to choose from.  And you are not only served with local Malaysian food but also from the Middle East, Cambodia and Vietnam, and Japan for the sushi.
The above menus are from Cambodia, from left - Stir fried Prawn with Garlic and Pepper, Deep Fried Fish Fillet with Chili Sauce ad Cambodia Beef Saraman.

I was glad also to see the friendly and bubbly nyonya-nyonya from Penang specially flown in to prepare the famous Penang food such as the Penang Asam Laksa, Mi Udang, Loh Bak and to die for Penang Char Kuey Teow!  Memang terangkat punyer!
They are here for the whole month.

Penang Char Kuey Tiaw

     Penang Asam laksa
Okay.... obviously she is not from Penang, but she prepares the Penang Omellette.

I love Penang food..... so this was my first round.  The spiciness and the hotness of the weather, I was sweating like Niagara Falls and sexily drenched ... hehehehe.  Almost jumped into the pool.

Luckily, there is the famous Ice Cream Gula Apong dispenser...... heaven!!!

I like it plain, no toppings - Ice Cream Gula Apong.

Lastly... the eating squad from Sarawak Bloggers - Garner, yours truly, Aliey, Ophelia, Khairool, Irene and Hani. Another member, Joachim left earlier.

Jom membuffet!

I am BOOTless for the Miri Country Music Fest 2015 !!

Yeehawww!!

Yes, Miri I'm coming. I have not been to Miri for more than 10 years I guess. So, I will come galloping all the way from Kuching...hahaha.

Being a very particular person in ensuring that I dress up appropriately for the concert, hell yeah I do think about what to wear.  If I cant score 10 out of 10 in following the theme, at least I pass the average.  It is just me.

These are basic items that will complete your country style.
A pair of jean, checkered shirt, a pair of boot and a cowboy hat!
Shall I dress'less' sexily?

This is cute and damn sexy!!! Photo from Google.
Shall I dress to kill?
Photo from Google.
I love to dress like this. I have the boobs but then I have a very comfy pillow like stomach to lie on!
Shall I dress decently and shyly?

Photo from Google.
Yes!! This is more like me...:)
Photo from Google.
I would prefer to dress up like this but I have to lose 20kgs first! Next year babe...
Well, just dress the way you like it babe... as long as you are comfortable and easy to swing or sway and groove your body to the country music.

The sad thing is, I don't have a pair of boot.  I am bootless. Been hunting for one.  Did try to look for one during my adventure to Chatuchak Market last year.   The place is so damn big and MsCyril and I tried to look for the shop but to no avail.  Well..... we can still have fun!

I booked the flight ticket to Miri way back in November.  Thereafter, I have been persuading my two lovely cowgirls and partners in crime, MsCyril and MsAngeli to go with me.  And I am successful! Yes.... we are going to paint the Miri town red! I am going on my own and not under the roof of Sarawak Bloggers BUT I will be meeting the Kuching and Miri bloggers there.

Looking forward to enjoy the great country music being performed by our very own local bands and also international ones.

Gonna share the great experience and photos next!  Until then..... yeehawwwww!!!

SLAP ME HARD. GO BALD.

I just got to know the 'why' part of the go bald event in relation to cancer.
Slap myself hard hard.  Only got to know the meaning behind all these last Saturday!
After all these years. I thought it us just an act for you to get people to donate for a good cause.

Cancer patients who undergo chemotherapy tend to experience hair loss.  Late hubby didnt go through that procedure.  He only took the chemo pills orally.
As written in the Sarawak Children's Cancer Society (SCCS) FB info, Go Bald is an awareness cum fundraising event for the SCCS. The objective is by shaving our heads we aim to send the message to children that hair loss is only a temporary setback in their road to recovery.

Laa..... itu sebabnya.  Easy to comprehend. Aku je yang lembab.

This year is their version Go Bald 6.0

Mr Hamdan of Tune Hotels, Tia and Mr Gary, Manager of Tune Hotel Waterfront Kuching
Thanks to my fren, Mr Hamdan of Tune Hotels who invited me to join the event last Saturday's afternoon, 22 March where in conjunction with Tune Hotel Waterfront Kuching's 5th Anniversary, they also organised a special event "Going Bald for KIDS with Cancer' in support of children with cancer and the Sarawak Children's Cancer Society (SCCS) at the lobby of Tune Hotel Waterfront Kuching.

It was my first time I set my foot at Tune Hotel Waterfront Kuching.
It was my first time too to witness this go bald event, although it was just a teaser event.

LIVE UR LIFE AND FORGET UR AGE - BB Bunkers_Damai Central

Friday, 28 Feb 2014
Bloggers' Night organised by BB Bunkers, jointly hosted by BB Bunkers, Damai Central, Escobar & Escape Beach Bar.

That was more than 2 weeks ago.
I went there to stay for a nite and joint the activities arranged for us on Saturday morning.  I brought along my colleague cum traveling partner, MsCyril.  Girls weekend gateway.... katanya.

I only knew about Damai Central last year,  Quite a 'happening' place during the RWMF 2013.  It is just opposite the entrance of Kampung Budaya Sarawak.  It is an innovative multi-purpose public complex built in Sarawak ethnic-concept design.  Just an hour drive or less from Kuching.  Owned by SEDC and some of the tenants are:
-  Medan Niaga Foodcourt
-  Bayridge Fine Seafood Restaurant
-  Escobar and Grill
-  Escape Beach Bar
-  BB Bunkers (new)
-  7-Eleven Convenience Shop

BB Bunkers is a hostel like accommodation - dormitory-style bed with 'pods' as bed bunkers to define the semi private spaces.  It is clean, stylish but basic....open concept, hostel like.  No only man or only woman area.  Tak ada.  Semua campur.  Kalau nak privacy sikit, do opt for the double pod kat tingkat atas. Amaran - tak ada sound proof or silencer, so be prepared untuk mendengar bunyi 'snoring' or 'ehem-ehem'.

Here are the details on the pod types and rates:

Pod types and configurations:
1 x Family Pod (1 x double bed & 1 x sofa bed)
6 x Double Pod (1 x double bed)
2 x Single Pod (1 x single bed)
2 x Twin Pod (2 x single bed)
3 x Triple Pod (3 x single bed)

1 x Dorm Pod (5 x single bed)

Our pod - 3 x Triple Pod (3 x single bed).

1 x Dorm Pod (5 x single bed)

Double Pod
The rates:
Weekday
Single bed (in any pod) : RM50
Double Pod : RM80
Family Pod : RM120

Entire Venue : RM1200

Weekend
Single bed (in any pod) : RM60
Double Pod : RM100
Family Pod : RM150

Entire Venue : RM1500

RWMF 2014
Single bed (in any pod) : RM110
Double Pod : RM180

Facilities include:

24-hour reception - very friendly and accommodating receptionist!

secure cabinets for valuables (with waterproof RFID bracelets for easy access) - the red band !

shared toilets and showers - semua campur... toilet and showers unisex.

AC and fans, free Wi-Fi - high speed!!!
TV room (
equipped with a DVD player and bean bags) and pantry

Well, if you and ur friends just need a place to sleep and ease yourselves comfortably, after 'party-party' or drinking session at one of the bar, or even after attending a wedding reception at the seafood restaurant... u can opt to stay here.  Cheap and affordable and clean.

I am thinking of bringing Barry and his frens to spend a nite here one of the weekends.  There is a movie nite on every 1st and 3rd Saturdays at the Barok Amphitheater in the evening.  The beach is just a few minutes walk.  There are other activities available provided by Damai Central such as jungle trekking (RM45 per pax) , bicycle tour (RM30 per pax) or even Pansuh Cooking Class (RM25 per pax) and many more.

Briefing by Adrian of Damai Central on the activities available...

Bloggers listening with full concentration....

Ready for bicycle tour.... 30 years dah tak naik basikal.  Konfiden habis...

Photo session with the handsome Adrian and his mate.
See.... the cat on my t-shirt is sniffing the macho young man.  Bad meow!!!
Hehehe...... Adrian is my good old fren's son...

Next:  Escobar and Escape Beach Bar...
